Oversee road construction and maintenance projects Review and analyze data to coordinate the planning/design/oversight of transportation facilities Manage contractors, materials suppliers, and consultants regarding road construction and roadmaintenance projects Confer with local officials, departmental engineers, county maintenance, and special operations crewson technical and operational issues Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:
Learn KYTC policy Make routine and final inspections and acceptance of road construction and maintenance projects Interpret and draft professional and technical papers and reports Determine proper expenditure of funds for various transportation construction projects Desired candidates should possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:

Must have two years of engineering experience in addition to that required for licensure as a professional engineer. Substitute EDUCATION for
Experience:
A master's degree in engineering will substitute for one year of the required experience. Graduate work in engineering beyond a master's degree will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
NONE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):
Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification. Must be licensed as a professional engineer by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors OR must be licensed in another state with the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license from the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors within the employee's initial six month probationary period. Engineering decisions recommended by individuals without a Kentucky Professional Engineering License must be approved by a KRS Chapter 322 Licensed Professional Engineer until licensure is obtained.
