Machine Operator IV
This position performs manufacturing and inspections functions during production. A key part of this position will be meeting established safety practices, quality standards and production rates. This position is also required to operate a fork lift to assist in product movement.
The Machine Operator IV will have achieved the competencies as described in Skill Block Level 4, and will be expected to consistently demonstrate that level of proficiency.
Principal Relationships:
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Supervises: Provides work leadership to 1-4 Temporary workers as needed
Interacts with: Shift Supervisor, Plant Manager
General Responsibilities:
Maintain knowledge of product quality plans; check for flaws, blemishes, discoloration, burn marks and warping
Assemble product in accordance with quality plan; assemble feet, cor-plugs and card holders as needed.
Emboss product when required; ensure a quality embossing stamp. Must be able to set up embossing machine.
Perform inspection of each part to quality plan requirements.
Notify supervisor of any suspect quality issues.
Will be required to assist with production work during rest and lunch periods.
Will be required to back fill daily vacancies.
Transport product into inventory in a safe manner; using Forklift machine
Stack and package product in accordance with quality plan and supervisors instructions.
Provide on the job training to new employees and temporary employees when requested by supervisor.
Substitute as Team Lead when needed.
Lead in routine operator preventive maintenance on mold and machines.
Lead with mold changeovers.
Lead in lubing molds.
Lead in clean up of manufacturing areas.
Provide input to improve processes and procedures.
Maintain safe workplace and ensure that safety policies are followed.
Report safety concerns and hazards to your supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Knowledge, Experience Skills :
Knowledge/Education required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. (Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.)
Related Experience required:
0-3 years experience in plastics industry preferred.
Has a basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the plastics field.
Ability to work in a seasonally fast paced environment under direct supervision.
Forklift experience is a plus.

Must be able to input production numbers on data entry system.

Work Conditions:
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including variable starting times, overtime and/or weekends/holidays;
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment that requires contact with high noise and heat levels, dust, grease, oil and other substances;
Must follow safe work practices, including required personal protection equipment.
Must be able to lift, push, pull frequently, and maneuver at least 100 pounds.
12 hour shifts - 2/2/3 schedule
$14.23 per hour

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
